The home of the Barton Phoenix 750 four, the most powerful Brtish two stroke race bike ever produced.
How it all began
It all started very small with Barry Hart and Tony Ryan both investing £15 each and setting up business in a barn with two small lathes. Tony Ryan went his own way and left the partnership and Graham Dyson who later formed Nova Transmissions joind the team.
They produced for many racers that used to race on a tight budget and then moved on to produce complete gear boxes, water cooled cylinder etc.
The Sparton 500 triple had some great results with a first and second in the northwest 200, the only none Barton part on the Sparton engine was the Suzuki GT380 crank casings.
Then came the Phoenix four 750 square four two stroke, this produced over 160 bhp and you may remember the film Silver Dream Racer, this bike was built by Barton Motors with the Phoenix engine and by this time it was available as a 500.
